I have found that cox in my area (Phoenix, AZ) is absolutely terrible. I have slow, unreliable internet (12mpbs) which routinely cuts in and out (no fault of Cox, of course), and I pay for HD channels and do not get them because I have to pay an upgrade fee to get a new HD receiver, even though it was supposed to be included in my package!
I recently found direct tv to be a much better and cheaper offer, and now Cox is trying to tell me that I have signed up for their price lock guarantee even when I never signed up for any form of a contract, and if I want out I will have to pay an ETF of about $180.
I cannot get a hold of a supervisor/manager in billing, and I am told that they will remove the 'contract' if I sign another 120 day contract! HA! Replace a contract with a contract? This is absolutely ridiculous, and please trolls, let me hear it about this being posted in the internet forum, and not personally with a cox representative.
