After reading all the posts concerning so many issues with the Cisco receiver, I'm really starting to think I've made the a huge mistake! We upgraded to Contour, and thus the Cisco receiver Wednesday and it completely quit working by the next day. My husband spent about 90 minutes on the phone with tech support and I twice more for about 30+ minutes each. The earliest they could get a tech out is Monday - seriously! Even more frustrating is tech support (on the phone) told me that I could go to a Cox Solutions store and just exchange the receiver, see if it worked and call back and cancel the work order if that fixed the problem. I drive all the way to the store and am told that they don't have receivers and you cannot pick one up from the store! This is after I initially called to inquire about Contour and was told I did not need professional installation and could just go into a Cox Solutions store and exchange my old equipment for the upgrade. I drove all the way out there and, you guessed it, they told me they don't do that and I have to have a technician come out. A complete and total lack of communication within the company.
For the first three days, it was stuck on one channel and wouldn't pick up anything else; now it gets nothing. I have giant black screen. I'm shocked at all the issues I am hearing about and am thinking more and more, we should just get a TiVo and our old cable box back!! So far, this is not worth the hassle!!
