A month or two ago, my Contour interface changed. I have a compliment and a suggestion. First a compliment: for the first time anywhere in the whole interface a 'screen button' labelled 'Delete' that actually deletes, rather than sending you to a confirmation page asking if that was what I intended! Yes! In other places I feel as if I spend far too much time reiterating that I pressed Delete because I had intended to Delete something.
However, I have a suggestion for improvement. This 'screen button' appears when I am watching a recording and press Stop (the physical button on the remote control). I must be old school, but when I press a button labelled "Stop", among the consequences I anticipate is that the playback actually stops. This is no longer the case. Whether you were playing the recording, fast-forwarding or reversing, that activity continues while a new popup screen asks a three-part question: Stop and Delete, Stop and Save, or Cancel.
Could someone please reorder the series of events that pressing 'Stop' initiates, so that first the playback (or rewind or whatever) stops, THEN we take a moment to decide the fate of the recording? Often I find that I actually DO want to stop a recording at a particular point, and return to it later.
Since "Stop and Delete" is offered as the first option, I guess a lot of us have been filling our disks to overflowing...
