For four weeks I have tried to get an issue resolved regarding my new TiVo Roamio Plus and a Motorola MTR700 tuning adapter from Cox. The Roamio gives me a message "No tuning adapter" and I cannot receive channels below 78, nor can I receive some HD channels (SyFy, Bravo, Hallmark, Lifetime, to name a few). Cox has sent five service technicians to the house (twice we requested service supervisors and instead were sent service technicians from a subcontractor). From what I can find on Internet forums and in conversation with TiVo, the problem seems to be that the tuning adapter firmware needs to be updated to 1.40. Roamios made in the last few months have a newer, different security certificate which the older tuning adapter firmware does not recognize. A service technician does not have the ability to update the firmware. It has to come from somewhere "up the line," and my understanding is a signal needs to be sent out that will go to all tuning adapters in a given service area. I am getting nowhere with getting this resolved. My husband also purchased a TiVo Roamio Plus so we are a "his and hers" household and both tuning adapters have the same issues, so it's not a question of "get a different tuning adapter" and it it's not a question of "unplug and replug" or "reconnect everything" -- believe me, we've done all these things multiple times. Cox needs to send a signal to update the firmware. What is it going to take to get that done? I am in New Orleans. I see on forums (Cox and TiVo) that other Cox customers with Roamios have had the same problem in Connecticut, Oklahoma, and Kansas. The firmware update fixed the problem. Please fix this, Cox!
