Possible Workaround For On Demand Issues

For several months we have experienced problems with On Demand. The issues involved inability to access some channels or the failure to restart previously paused shows. When attempting the above we got a massage advising the content was unavailable and to try again later but later never comes. After numerous calls to Cox (having the box reset) and a visit from a service technician advising our signal was good but producing no fix, I spoke with a rep yesterday who may have found a temporary solution. I say temporary because it is unknown how long this fix will last as On Demand seems to deteriorate and become more unreliable with use.

Yesterday the rep again reset the box (that's usually first on their checklist) with no results and then tried something a little different, as least in my experience. The rep completely removed my service from Cox Communications, reloaded it and updated my entire service. My box then rebooted and all On Demand features returned. For those of you having similar On Demand issues, the next time you call in you may wish to have the rep perform the above procedure.
