I've reviewed the forum for information regarding external HDs and haven't seen anything posted since 2013. Since storage has deceased in cost/GB and the HD recommended in 2013 (BUFFALO DriveStation Combo 4 2TB) is no longer available, thought I'd repose the query. In Oklahoma they still use the Scientific Atlanta 8300 and 8240 boxes. I just had a new (well, to me) 8240HDC installed to replace the 8300 whose tuner was fried by our big storm a couple of weeks ago. Does anyone know what 2 TB HD will work with the 8240HDC?
