MiniBox Error code m.3.1.4
So the not working minibox yesterday decided to work today without any adjustments to wiring
. Now we have error code m.3.1.4 for following stations that will not come in and displays that error code instead. These are the stations...

After that I stopped going channel by channel and decided to come here. Any thoughts? Our regular cable box in the front room is getting those stations without the error code. It is just the minibox with this issue.

All of the sudden, my caller ID banner no longer shows up on the TV. I have checked the setting, and it's on. How do I get it back?

Bizarre Program names in Channel Guide
In the Cox program Guide and DVR list over the last few days, many entire words and/or show titles have been replaced with nonsensical words or phrases. Sometimes the guide looks correct, but then the recorded program name will later be replaced by something else. Right now the program guide looks generally correct, but some names of shows recorded last night on the DVR have been replaced with seemingly random (or maybe not) words that go far beyond typos. For example, Jimmy Kimmel reads, “protect Oimmel Law.” Most shows in the guide appear normal at the moment. Have others seen this?... or do I have an equipment failure?... or both?

CableCard and Media Center
We have a computer hooked up to our TV that runs Media Center. We got the message that we have to either use the mini boxes so we looked into the Cable Card. We removed the two TV tuners that are in the computer, got the Cable Card and a Ceton 510001DCT04IN InfiniTV 4 TV Tuner. We are now trying to get it to work. Has anyone had any luck with a similar setup? The people at the solutions store were not helpful. I just kept getting "you don't have TiVo service" from them when I went to get the Cable Card.

Is the channel line up for flex watch include ID, Investigation discovery? What kind channels are available? Anyone know?
Flex watch is a service that is geared toward internet users, providing streaming services and such.

ABC On Demand - Wicked City
I'm trying to view HD episodes of Wicked City through ABC On Demand. There are 8 episodes in total. Neither S1 E4 nor S1 E8 will play. Episode 4 just gives me a blank screen and Episode 8 throws out an error message (V205 - Cox On Demand is temporarily unavailable). It's been occurring for more than a week now.
Is anybody else experiencing this issue? I'm not having trouble viewing any other On Demand content including the other episodes of this show.

The COX Mini Box Scam
The recent demand by Cox, that customers like myself, have to use these idiotic mini boxes just to watch TV, is absurd.
My HD TV has a built in digital tuner and up to this point in time, I could tune any Cox non-pay for view digital channel without an issue.
Also my DVD recorder has a digital tuner and I use it to record shows that I will later watch.
The mini box screws all this up, because now I can only watch one channel at a time and I cannot use the expensive high quality digital tuner in my HD TV.
I also have to manually change the channel from the mini box since it does not have a timer that can be programmed to change the channel.
If I want to record one show and watch another while recording, I cannot do that unless I have two mini boxes!
And why do I want to increase my monthly bill with all these stupid mini box rentals anyway?
In short, the mini box is a scam by Cox to make more money and screw the customer.
Previously the only channels that were scrambled are the pay for view and premium channels like HBO, Showtime etc.
Now Cox has seen an opportunity to scramble all channels!
Wow, such greed.
All modern TV's and recorders have high quality digital tuners in them and they are perfectly capable of tuning any digital channels.
That is how these devices were designed.
We do not need to have our lives messed up with these mini boxes and the extreme inconvenience they present, not to mention the unnecessary cost.
I am now tempted to cancel all my service.
It is just not worth it.

When is Cox going to pick up Root Sports Southwest?
I am a long time Astro fan and last year had to take advantage of a one-time special with u-verse to watch them for 4 months. I wish Cox would pick up the Astros, who before they left Fox Sports SW were on cable in NO for over 25 years. Given that Houston is the closest MLB city and that the Astros are now a playoff contender again, I would think that there is a good market for Root Sports SW, which carries them. Please pick up this channel or I may have to switch to u verse.

New Mini Box that is "required" for Cox Cable service
Do I really need it? Is this a decryption box or is it a HD receiver. Many of my newer TVs have a built in HD receiver and able to decrypt the HD channels already being sent out. So is Cox forcing an external box and additional cost by encrypting all channels into a digital format that requires a decryption box?

DVR error message
I received the following error message on a missed recording last night.
The program was Chicago Med in HD.
"Recording failed because it conflicted with another high priority recording." We have never had this happen before. There was one other show scheduled to record at the same time and it did record.
What can we do to fix this?

Mini Box channel lineup
An earlier post from a Cox customer support rep stated: "The mini box is capable of tuning the channels in the Cox TV Starter and Essential tiers. Once you connect the mini box, you will also receive additional digital channels at no extra charge. The channels vary by market, but include 50 Music Choice channels, local HD broadcast channels, as well as channels like NBC Sports Network, Hallmark Channel, Investigation Discovery, National Geographic Channel, and GSN."
I have the Advanced TV Preferred package and am missing numerous channels with the mini-box. I don't believe it was made clear that the mini-box enables only a limited number of digital channels and subscribers to additional packages will not be able to access many channels via the mini-box.
Is there a technical reason why the mini box cannot receive many of the Advanced TV packaged channels?
Given what a subscriber now pays for advanced TV (nearly $100 per month), it would seem that Cox would enable all of a subscriber's TVs to receive the subscribed channels.
